How Microdermabrasion Work as an Acne Scars Treatment

Acne Scars TreatmentMany of our clients want acne scars treatment to removed scars that have formed over a lifetime.  Whether acne started as a pre-teen and left a few years later or it has been ongoing throughout adulthood, it is common for acne to be both an annoyance when it is happening and afterwards – due to the scarring. This can leave people uncomfortable and embarrassed about the look and feel of their skin.  Fortunately, you don’t have to live with the embarrassment of acne long-term. Microdermabrasion is a highly effective and safe way to improve the skin.  It is one of the least invasive treatment options and can be completed slowly on those that have sensitive skin.  While there are kits at the store, for best results, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our Anaheim location so that you can refresh the look and feel of your skin and see dramatic results. Microdermabrasion works as an acne scars treatment by removing the surface layer of the skin, also known as the epidermis.  The hard portion of the scar is here, and when that layer is removed, a portion of the scar is removed with it.  Underneath is fresh and healthy skin that will have a youthful glow.  Since the procedure only removes a layer at a time, it can take a while for the scar to be eliminated or completely faded.  With that in mind, if you are interested in a more aggressive treatment option, let us know. Simultaneously, this is an excellent solution for those that simply don’t have time to spend on a recovery.  As each microdermabrasion treatment takes place, an old layer of skin is removed to let the fresh and healthy layer underneath become exposed.  Naturally, since scars go deep beneath the surface, multiple layers of skin must be removed in order to complete the transformation.  This cannot be done all at once, with this particular procedure, but over time, your scars will fade.  The benefit of using this particular treatment is that since it is non-invasive, you can have a microdermabrasion appointment on your lunch break or on the same day you want to go out with friends.  There is no need to worry about your skin appearing too inflamed or irritated because this is procedure is incredibly gentle.  For this reason, many of our patients choose to start with this treatment before deciding if they want to explore other avenues. Fortunately, the fresh layer of skin underneath will be healthy, fresh, and beautiful so if you continue to schedule the treatment, more of your new skin will shine through and your appearance will continue to improve.  This is incredibly effective as an acne scars treatment and will also help those who wish to appear more youthful, in general.  Some common signs of aging like dry or sagging skin can appear refreshed and rejuvenated using this procedure.  Since it is non-invasive, we recommend it for people that are considering other forms of plastic surgery, prior to making the commitment to schedule a more invasive procedure.
